Wet day…….

This is the ivy and climbing hydrangea on the front porch wall.
The rain has been dripping off the leaves practically all day.
Everything is soggy.
Now at 5:00pm it appears to have stopped, almost, and there is a bit of a breeze.It has gone much cooler, at least that’s what it feels like indoors.
Soon be teatime.
I don’t seem to have accomplished much today, other than do some washing (which I actually put in the dryer for once being a small amount), and cleaning out the bathroom cupboard.
Started two more books.
One which was given to me to read, from our lovely friend Hélène, called “Small things like these”, which is an absolute gem. It was shortlisted for the Booker Prize last year, and is written by Claire Keegan. It is only a short book and I’ve read half of it this afternoon. Alongside beginning another PD James, called The Lighthouse.
Just the afternoon for settling in with a good book.
