Red Tiger

Arrived home to find that my Abutilon 'Red Tiger' has finally been coaxed into flowering. The bell-shaped flowers with their red-veining have been described as looking like miniature Tiffany lampshades. Unsurprisingly it is the most sought after of all Abutilons but its rarely available in the UK. I got mine in the early summer having been on a waiting list for several years. It has produced quite a few flower buds over the last few months but all of them shriveled up without flowering. But now they are here, with several more to open in the next few days.
