As Good As It Gets
Today's photo, captured by event photographer Stuart, shows the super slinky Sharon strutting her stuff at the fashion show, part of today's CoDA* fund raiser at Vista Restaurant in Altinkum, with Karen the incomparable compare, and me in the background waiting to grab a Blip, but the image I eventually caught was out of focus so today's blip includes me rather than taken by me :)
In addition to the fashion show of new and nearly new donated clothes for auction, the afternoon of fund raising activities included a full set menu afternoon tea (sandwiches, quiche, scones with cream+jam, cakes and gateaux all made by members of CoDA) as well as the omnipresent-at-any-event bargain rails of both new and 'as new' clothes for sale. Such a great afternoon, well attended, fun with friends, productive and useful. As good as it gets.
Home by 18.00 feeling very tired - a day that included making 50 sandwiches for the afternoon tea, unpacking and hanging clothes for sale, helping to sell said clothes and serve the afternoon tea, then packing away when it was all over. However the mood is good because the afternoon raised a total of 20,300tl which I believe is largely destined to create new bed palettes for the dogs at the local council shelter for the coming winter, though of course the charity continues to support local ownerless animals, on the street and in the shelter.
An evening of knitting (teddy for my charity fundraising Crafts stall next month) and watching one of my fav movies - As Good As It Gets.
