Morning has broken
When S got back from his morning run and showed me this, I knew I wouldn't come up with anything better today. So this is a guest blip, straight from the camera phone, no editing. It's rare for him to stop to take photos, but this was definitely worth it.
It's a public holiday today (Thursday, I'm backblipping again). So, we went to the beach. Only for a short while, time for a laze and quick swim. Then we went to our local restaurant, the Corregidora, for lunch. For once on this exposed site there was no wind and we got to sit on the external balcony with its lovely view. It was packed, and service was even slower than usual -- it was 40 minutes before we got any food. Still, it was very pleasant. We didn't get home till after 5 pm.
In the evening we went to the first concert in the very brief autumn jazz festival which appears to consist of two concerts. It featured Chico Lopez -- we bought tickets without bothering to Google him beforehand, but as I have just discovered, he is virtually invisible on the Internet anyway. Nevertheless he clearly has a fan club who had turned out in force.
I can't say we were wild about it. Initially the balance seemed all wrong with pianist, drummer and singer all competing to be heard. But once he stopped piano-bashing (standing up to apply more force) and played a few solos, it did improve. Unfortunately he had the strongest Andalusian accent ever, and also mumbled, so we barely understood a quarter of what he said between songs. Anyway, I did find one five-year old video if you want to have a listen. Also a photo in extras just to prove I did take some photos today (three).
We bumped into C and her Swedish friend E at the concert; E was with her visiting cousins, so we all went for a drink afterwards. It was very pleasant sitting outside after dark chatting for an hour; we ended up not leaving till nearly 11, at which time it was still 22C.
