A ducky day

A bit of an emergency blip. It's been an overcast day and between working in the studio and heading to town for groceries I hadn't done a blip yet. I figured ducks it is. The two females are in the pool. Patty is the lighter one and Betty the darker. Look how much bigger they are than Sluggo.
One of them has been laying for about a month now. We're wondering when the other will start. Dan eats their eggs. I prefer chicken eggs and, of course, my girls aren't laying at the moment.
We seem to have a juvenile female cardinal coming to the deck these last couple days. I haven't seen Pip in a bit and I thought this was Mom but realized her beak was dark so not grown up. And definitely much less red. We've named her Peep... lol...
