Service time again for the car and its first MOT - passed with flying colours of course. Now the outlay for road tax is required, after just having renewed the insurance, so afew hundred pounds poorer but wouldn't be without it.

On my lunchtime walk I noticed that Bull Brow that I blipped a while ago now has a blue plaque, a local scheme giving information about historic locations. It says that it is so called as it was the route for cattle being taken to nearby slaughterhouses. It also led to a site used for bull-baiting, "a regular attraction until the fatal event of November 8 1820". It doesn't say what the fatal event might have been, so still a bit of mystery here!
