Haaf netters on the Solway

A lot of people won't have come cross this old method of fishing including me until I moved here! It's ancient, it's highly regulated and it's exclusive to the Solway. The Environment Agency issue only 150 licences each year to salmon fishermen who maintain the old Viking art of Haaf Net Fishing. If you want to know more, there's more on the internet. I'm not a fan of this by the way and even less now I've read up on it! By the way, that's Scotland across the water.

Busy busy day today so going to chill out and play with Bonnie and a certain little black and white cocker spaniel called Chloe who's here for the night! As its a nice evening we will also more than likely have a walk on the marsh.
