"Freedom"

..... and a much needed run off his lead in a meadow at the ruins of St Benets Abbey, Horning. These ruins are well worth a visit and the Abbey Gatehouse & Windmill are near to the car park but you have to walk out a short distance to the oak cross. Apparently modern Bishops of Norwich have preached at an open-air service here since 1939 and is now an annual event. The tall oak cross you can see in the distance was brought from Sandringham during the 1980s and placed over the position of the medieval high altar, and is now the focus of the service. The cross is inscribed with the word Peace highly appropriate for such a spot.
