A friendly smile

Renata used to tell me not to engage with people because when I do, it's rarely a short conversation! Now she's discovered the pleasure of random conversations with strangers too. A bit scary that she's becoming more like me!  :-)
I'm an introvert so I amuse myself sometimes when I do engage with others and end up talking so much. It was lovely to meet this young woman in the park this morning just as we both got out of our cars. After chatting for a few minutes, I asked her if I could take a photo of her from behind, maybe sitting on a bench, but when we went over to the bench, it was too wet. Turned out she's a photographer and a former model, so I asked if I could take a photo of her showing her face, and she agreed. I liked the autumn leaves in the background. It was so nice to meet her, and I might run into her again because she lives in the area too.
I had decided to walk down to the village, and on the way, I spotted workers repairing the bridge over the creek that runs into the harbour. (2nd extra). A bit further up the road, there was a flagger directing traffic over the bridge because it was one lane open only (1st extra). I said hello, and he started chatting too. He told me that he's 69 and has to work because his small pensions aren't enough. He works with the road crew, has travelled all over this island and Vancouver Island with the company, and says that the guys are great to work with and he enjoys working outdoors. He also commented on the lovely view down the harbour that he has on this job.
These two friendly people made my walk even more enjoyable!
