Early morning and ready to protest for justice

On the two-year anniversary of a landmark Supreme Court ruling, Fosen activists, including indigenous Sami people, staged a demonstration in the street, in front of the parliament and inside the parliament. 


The ruling, made in 2019, declared wind turbines in the Fosen region to be in violation of indigenous and human rights. The activists get a lot of encouragement from the passing people on their way to work. 


I told the police officers to be gentle with them when they had to remove them later in the evening, and they gave me smiles and thumbs up. Actually I think many of them sympathise with the youth.   Court orders have to be followed!
