Oak Tree

The annual Isle of White Festival takes place this week and as if on cue the weather has taken a turn for the worst with rain and wind all day and more forecast together with gales during the next few days. At least the organisers appear to be better prepared this year so there should not be a repeat of the total island gridlock which ensued during last years deluge.

During a blustery wet walk on the downs this morning I sheltered from a particularly heavy shower under this old oak tree. It felt as though winter had returned up in the clouds on the high ground.
