Day out to Oxford

What a day!

At 04:50 this morning our smoke alarm went off. Our house is linked to a 24/7 emergency call centre and I headed off to the comms panel to talk. As I headed down stairs the alarm stopped. I was asked if the alarm had gone off and I said it had just stopped. Before any further discussion took place the alarm went off again. It would take long to tell the rest of the tail except to say the fire service arrived. They were great. Our village management are investigating………

So we set off to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford to see the Colours Exhibition which was well worth the drive.

Off home via Evesham. I was lucky I had driven the outward leg so Mrs C had the joy of driving home in heavy rain. My Blip is off the queue at a roundabout that we had just managed to get through.

On our mat when we got home was a letter from HMRC. We should not have opened it up. There was a reminder to say we owed them money.
I checked on line and they still had not replied to a letter we sent them in May which they acknowledged they had received , when we explained:
Their system said we did not owe them anything
The tax year was all up to date
Their was no mechanism from the account to pay them
Nothing has changed.
