Pushed hard to get through some api work that had been creeping in scope. Not sure I am ahead of it yet but hopefully tomorrow will be decisive. The basic CRD operations are working the Update is going to be a little trickier due to the number of fields and child data dependencies. I’ll probably just limit the initial Update functionality to get it out the door and then enhance as required.
The kitten likes helping me work and her jumping ability has made it near impossible to keep her out of my business.
The girls all had rehearsal tonight so I made dinner and played games with Ashton. We’ve been playing a really cool 2 player card game called the Fox in the Forest. It is well balanced and involves enough chance/skill to stay entertaining. I want to send a copy to my friends in Berlin but couldn’t find it on Evilzon… I wonder what online game stores in the EU might have it and accept foreign payment. Suggestions?
Very sad what is happening in Gaza/Israel right now, it’s hard to see how anyone wins. So many of these intractable conflicts are fueled by power structures that benefit from the existence of the conflict. It’s hard to see how we stop that inertia and replace it with something else. Violence and fear are such strong basic impulses whereas compromise and collaboration require so much social/emotional development. It’s easy to see how the patterns of violence resonate once you have two populations that are persistently vulnerable and isolated from the other. I see the same inertia in the US, political hierarchies are building power by nurturing grievance. We seem to be working our way towards the same end.
The stupid part about all of this is that we have enough resources for everyone to thrive.
