Little Honey Eater called in for a visit at the PO

This little Honey Eater flew into the Post Office today, as you can see by the photo set in the bottom corner, our Post Office is a lovely old building - (well old by Richmond standards) with 14ft high tongue and grove ceilings.
We have had trouble with little birds flying inside before and with the high ceilings it's a long way down for them find their way back outside as they stay up high on the light fittings.
Every time someone comes into the PO we get told "You have a bird in here" and we say "Yes, what's why the doors are all wide opened - so he can fly back out" :-)
Anyway he did manage to find his way out, thank goodness.

And yes that is a Brolga in front of the Post Office, as I was closing up for the day here he was walking down our main street. He wasn't at all worried about the cars driving right past him.
