Glorious - Just Glorious

Up early so as to be just outside Trulefoot for an 8:00am breakfast and then over the Tamar Bridge and out a the River Dart Country Park. We arrived around 10:00 and were the first of our group to arrive so we just slid in on the right hand side of our large five van pitch. One by one the others arrived and formed up a square but we were happy as was, all day sunshine.
Few bottles of beer in the sun whilst we all caught up with each other then the two pint steins were unpacked and we headed up to the main event area.
Initially it was great fun, disco, entertainment, couple of beers, meeting old friends, the same routine as every year but then it began to get more and more crowded, to the point where it was uncomfortably so. After a Chicken Korma for me, the others had different meals we called it a day at around 11 and headed back to the vans.

It’s been a gloriously hot and sunny day, more August than October. I’ve sat and dozed in the sun, drunk a few beers, enjoyed the company of Mrs S and relaxed.
What I haven’t done is use my mobile phone or any other portable device. Except for a brief period to call Sam and Josh it’s been Airplane Mode since I left home, life is so much simpler, so much better.

I’ll be going it more often.
