Ex Cep tionally big and tasty!

It's wet, humid and relatively warm for October and swathes of toadstools of all shapes and sizes are springing up. Just going for a walk around the sailing club grounds there were 10 or 11 different sorts sprouting up in their preferred mini-habitats - through the mowed grass, in association with the pine trees and scattered under the willow scrub.
Like burly peasants in homespun, a group of huge brown ceps were rubbing shoulders with the neat military scarlet and white fly agaric marching under the cherry trees; wholesome and toxic fruits sprouting from their underground fungal webs to cast spores to the wind.
This big cep though never got a chance to propagate. Cut into slices it filled the frying pan 3 times over and ends its life as particularly good mushroom soup

Quite ex cep tional in size and taste
