Chawton

We set off mid morning and arrived for day one of our mini break to Winchester by mid afternoon.  We stopped off en route at Chawton and had a look around the house and spent time in the garden.  A complicated family history and tenuous connection to Jane Austen but worth a visit (gardeners world 2 for 1 made it a better price).  

Hotel du Vin provided a welcome upgrade and our garden cottage was beautiful.  Lovely meal at Brasserie Blanc and a catch up with F who was entertaining as usual.  No,1 enjoyed the day and first visit to Winchester.

Lovely day all round.
