Tupilaqs

On 16 September in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, I mentioned that we had bought 3 more tupilaqs as company for the one we bought in Tasiilaq in eastern Greenland in 2019. We unwrapped them today.  The original one is the small one front left.  All 4 are carved out of antlers that the caribou shed after the rutting season.  They were carved for visitors and all have 2 or 3 monster heads. "Real" tupilaqs are carved by shamans to destroy enemies.  Ours are, we hope, harmless.
