Autumn in the backyard
This is a black Tupelo or black gum tree that is the closest tree to the house. The tree that bears tiny flowers in early spring and the first to grow new leaves.
The first to change color.
The first to drop leaves…on the deck, on the steps and sidewalk. In the yard.
I raked up the first big mound of leaves today. There will be many more.
I don’t even care about raking since I get to enjoy the color.
It’s all about the balancing and the gratitude.
