Escapism

The world situation seems darker than ever, putting into stark perspective any relatively minor difficulties we may be experiencing.

Smithers tested positive for Covid on a lateral flow test before he left hospital, although we await the result of a PCR test to confirm. Fortunately his symptoms are mild, but it means we continue to be confined to barracks and are having to keep our distance from The Traveller. He is feeling the benefit of the release of pressure in his eye, which is wonderful, but he still can’t see very much.

It’s been so lovely having him home that I forgot to take a photo for today’s blip until it was well past sundown. So here’s a bit of escapism in the form of a watercolour on the wall in our so-called ‘library’ which is a great reminder of some of the books that our sons read when they were small, which conjour up memories of more innocent times.
