a lifetime burning

Not what was expected

It's been a weird stressful sort of a day.  The one thing that I did have planned, to get my covid booster jab, didn't happen, as I was accompanying someone else to A&E at a hospital elsewhere at the time. I'm hoping that the vaccination people won't mind too much.  Still, all is now well and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.

I've had very little time for photography, so here's a quick shot of a wasp in the back garden.  I know that lots of people are a bit phobic of wasps. But at this time of year, the wasps that you see have been cut off from their normal food supply and are effectively slowly starving to death.  They have very little ability to digest food and so are attracted to anything sugary.  So I'm hoping you'll forgive this portrait of a wasp who was most definitely not being a nuisance.

As ever, this one is more hairy in large(!)
