‘Ballachulish Slate Cone’
Andy Goldsworthy’s ‘Slate Cone’ in the Edinburgh Botanic Garden
It's made from Ballachulish Slate from a small village in the west of Scotland, famous for its slate quarries, dating from the late 1690s. It has provided the roofing slate for much of Edinburgh and Glasgow’s skyline over succeeding centuries.
