A water park slash animal aquatic show slash theme park isn’t my usual habitat but one can muster up the excitement for the sake of the children. Although at this seal and sea lion display Georgia was much more interested in bonding with other little girls in the audience than in watching seals leap in the water. She’s a gregarious sort.

By the end of the day I was gleefully leaping onto tandem rubber rings and flinging myself down water chutes with my sister, then accidentally traumatising my niece by pushing our ring under a waterfall on the lazy river. Fun uncles sometimes over-egg the pudding. However, it is character-building.
