still autumn

There's been a real divide in the weather this weekend - to our north, torrential rain which has caused flooding, landslides and travel chaos; to our south, unnaturally balmy temperatures and sunshine. In Dumfries, it was mild and damp.

I was up early to help out at the coffee morning. Today I was not there as an employee of The Usual Place but as a member of the Friends of Loch Arthur Committee. The Friends help to raise awareness of Loch Arthur and to fundraise for the Community. The coffee morning went well but could have been better attended. Maybe the weather forecast had kept people at home.

I had some clothes to drop off for MOOL (see this link if you live locally and can help with donations) and I was spellbound by this beautiful tree outside St Andrew's Church.

The weekly shop happened on my way home. I didn't really feel like shopping but I had come by car so it seemed sensible to do it then. I was glad to get home and put my feet up for a bit. I did go out for a walk and some friends came round with a lovely surprise present which will feature as a blip later this week :-)

Dinner tonight was a roasted cauliflower rogan josh and I've made enough for two nights to save cooking time tomorrow.

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.
