Prickly Pear

Earlier I was thinking this cactus had expired as the lower pads looked like they were in a sad state of affairs. But it was not to be and the green flowers began to sprout. Today is the first day for 3 flowers on two large plants with many more flowers to appear as the days go on. These somehow knew my new lens had arrived today and made their appearance to show the world. This is my new "L" lens and it IS sharp and can take quite a bit of cropping. This is maybe a 50% crop.
