Something’s missing
Dreich didn’t really describe conditions this morning. Still, we’ve run parkrun in a lot worse, so we got kitted up with the wet weather gear and headed down to Cramond as usual. However, when we got to the Prom there was none of the usual parkrun paraphernalia, just a few lost looking runners and mutterings of a late cancellation. It was too late to go anywhere else by this time, so we just had to do our own plod around - and I do admit it was pretty horrid running back into the wind and rain. We were so annoyed that we had not checked social media before we left home as we would have known about the cancellation and then could have had the joy of running round Arthur’s Seat in the wind and rain, since Holyrood was still on. Still, I shouldn’t moan - at least we had our extra parkrun in Germany on Tuesday, and if conditions were bad for runners today, it would have been doubly miserable for the volunteers standing around.
Can’t help feeling bereft though.
