Ballet
A fantastic day. My friend won flights to Aberdeen and tickets to see Scottish Ballet in a Loganair competition and I was delighted to have been asked to join her.
A very early start meant that we had all day in Aberdeen. We started with breakfast and a browse in Books & Beans then spent the morning in the art gallery along with various stops for coffee and lunch. Then to our accommodation for a wee fortifying afternoon nap before heading out for the evening. A pre theatre dinner at at The Tippling House ( fabulous food) and off to the theatre.
We were slightly surprised by a VIP welcome at the theatre where we we were treated to several glasses of wine and superb seats in the dress circle.
After such a great day we wouldn’t have been bothered if the ballet itself was an anticlimax but we weren’t disappointed , we were utterly blown away. Two contemporary pieces both very different and both superb. The second and longer piece, Twice Born, was probably the best dance I’ve ever seen.
