Day Out With The Olds And The Not So Old
Long arranged trip to Oxburgh Hall a family home for over 500 years.
Judith, my father's new love is a volunteer at the hall, she specialises in the gardens. So I was intrigued to see a bit of her world.
Oxburgh Hall is the home of the Bedingfield Family, who still live there.
Bedingfield was one of the gaolers of Mary Queen of Scots. As a consequence of this there is a superb Bed hanging embroidered by her and Bess of Hardwick.
There is also a priest hole which Camera Shy and son James went into. No way did I as I'm claustrophobic.
We had a superb lunch at Judith's with cheese cake. Then at Oxburgh hall I had Carrot Cake and then back at Judith's had Walnut and Coffee Cake . I have to confess after the Cream Tea Excursions of last week I NEVER WANT TO EAT CAKE AGAIN.
PS I was using the macro mode on my camera at Judith's as she has a superb garden and fogot to change the mode so this picture, from the roof of Oxburgh Hall, is still in that mode.
