Maxing out on tomatoes

The side effects from my jabs kicked in today but I should be fine tomorrow.


I was listening to a podcast by Dr Michael Mosely who was extolling the health benefits of tomatoes. I never need an excuse to eat tomato soup, but here is another one.


Lycopene is a type of organic pigment called a carotenoid. It is gives tomatoes their red colour. It is a powerful antioxidant that might help protect cells from damage including cancer. Cooking tomatoes increases the amount of available lycopene by breaking down the cell walls.
