Post Marks!
This is more of an experimental submission, it being a dull day with completely flat light, good to use through a window as a sort of natural light box. This piece was shot on the inside windowsill. Old post marks are intriguing as mail is no longer franked in the same way these days with the result that many known place names are no longer shown. I wonder how many viewers have heard of Sixmilecross in Co Tyrone? A lessor known fact is that the Anglican Church in the village, St Michael's, has a stained glass window commemorating a local family, the Dunlap family, and that it was John Dunlap who printed the United States Declaration of Independence.
