Desanimado

Estou muito desanimado. I am very dispirited. Foloma opened with this uncharacteristically frank statement when I greeted him this morning. I empathised as I feel the same this week, being dragged down by our deadline.

I logged onto my bank account hoping that I’d suddenly accumulated thousands of pounds, inching me ever closer to ditching work for a while. I’m watching my balance like a hawk, urging it upward at the end of each month.

Meanwhile the crows keep circling, thronging and adapting. Dar es Salaam’s Indian house crow problem is probably about three times worse than Maputo’s, but neither city is great in terms of the sheer number of crows. I feel for the native birdlife.
