WIDE MOUTH
If the hot Santa Ana winds had a
logo, this would be perfect- - outrageous &
over the top.
Our hot winds arrive in the Autumn, creating
wildfire hazards, then morph into cold winds
all winter. When they stop for a bit, we all
sigh in relief.
Here are several other winds:
SIROCCO: another hot wind, originating
in the deserts of North Africa, that menace the Mediterranean coast countries.
HELM: the only named wind in the UK,
that hits the southwest slope of Cumbria.
MISTRAL: a cold, dry wind blowing over
Europe.
CHINOOK: a warm dry wind that blows down the eastern side of the Rocky Mountain, in the US, at the end of Winter.
BORA: cold, very strong wind in the area of the Adriatic Sea in Europe.
There are a lot more named winds, but the windiest city in the world is
Wellington, New Zealand.
