Autumn

It's been a funny old day.  We had to wait in for two deliveries and meanwhile I was tackling the bathroom, especially (long intake of breath!)... the bathroom cabinet!!  Like all other cupboards, bathroom cabinets over years become storehouses of dangerously stacked,  often unwanted potions and lotions; unused smelly gifts; dental torture instruments; out of date medicinal aids, the list goes on.  In and amongst scrubbing the bath and emptying the cabinet, we discovered that the central heating had mysteriously turned itself on when the hot water switched on???  I had tested it, as instructed by the British Gas advert on the box, some days ago and the system was working fine, but then I had switched it off until needed (when icicles are hanging off our noses).

Long story short, I went online to book an engineer, hoping that a visit would happen before we go away and Adam turned up an hour or so later, armed with a tube of grease!  Apparently, some valve was dry and just needed lubricating - thank you Adam, system restored.

Rather than go back in to the bathroom cabinet I braved the rain showers and went for a hobble around the Estate with Sue, spotting this wall of autumnal leaves on the walk back up the hill home.  Blip done.
