Tiny Window
B and I went to the monthly talk in our local library this morning. Today the guest speaker was the headmaster of Gresham's, the large public school in Holt. He was a most entertaining speaker. He told us all about the history of the school which was founded in 1556 by John Gresham. The headmaster is clearly very proud of his school and it was encouraging to hear how his aspirations for the pupils are being fulfilled.
After lunch B and I turned into 'tourists' for the afternoon and followed the Holt Owl Trail, a series of pavement brass plaques (with an accompanying leaflet) which takes one round Holt and points out various historical features. This was for research purposes for a possible photoshoot for our camera club. My blip is of a tiny but beautifully detailed and painted window in Hoppers Yard, one of many retail 'yards' around the town which are featured in the trail. It's an excellent way to encourage visitors to see all the independent shops which are somewhat hidden away from the main high street (a clever initiative presumably by the local Chamber of Commerce).
