Birdwatching and Iolo

Yesterday my birdwatching group went to Burton Mere Nature Reserve. I hadn't been for a while so good to have a visit. We shared cars and it was good not to be driving for a change.

We walked around and saw a lot of ducks of different types, waders and other water birds.  We heard a cetti's warbler several times but didn't see it (as usual).

We were in a hide when Iolo Williams (bird expert and TV wildlife presenter) came in and gave a running commentary on the waders that we could see.  I got chatting to the man next to me and he was telling me on the tour that he was on with Iolo as his group's guide.  After a few moments he returned with him and said that he'd take our photo together.  He then posed with our group.  He was very friendly to everyone and his information was very useful.

There was a large group of waders on the water that took off when a sparrowhawk flew amongst them (other photo). Iolo told us which they  were, it's great to have an expert there!

In the evening F,O and I went to the Attfield Theatre in Oswestry, they were performing 'Allo 'Allo.  It was very funny and very good.  They're an amateur theatre group but their performances are very professional.
