Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

My turn Grandma

I've been cold today, got wet twice and took ages to get past the chill feeling.
I went to church first thing, a lovely service, around 12 of us varying in ages from 30s to 90s! The celebrant, our curate, was ordained priest last week so this was his first Eucharist in the church The chat over coffee afterwards was varied and lovely.
We have had a Franciscan Friar, who is also an ordained priest, with us for the past 18months or so as part of our ministry team. Today was his last day with us as this evening he is being licensed as Priest in charge of a neighbouring parish. He and two other Franciscans are re-establishing the Friary in Pilton.
I picked up Josie from nursery today, she was dancing up and down inside the door calling out to me, what a lovely welcome. I took her home and gave her her dinner. She really does eat well.
As we turned in the path leading to their house she said, 'I'm running.' Then came back to me and said 'Grandma run too.' I tried, put to shame I was by a two year old.
In the end I didn't make it to the service this evening, which I was a bit disappointed by but Colin went. There were 120 people there which was a great tribute to those involved. An be exciting new adventure for the church and the Friary.
Tomorrow by contrast, I will be in church for a funeral. Not such a joyful occasion.
