Nature Diary... Meeting and greeting

As usual early in the morning the birds gathered on rooftops, on chimneys, and in the trees. Before long they would be busy looking for food.
As the sky became brighter and the sea a deeper blue a chilly wind blew to warn us that summer was being chased out. Later in the day a spattering of rain fell briefly, just enough to surprise us lest we became too complacent during the occasional bursts of sunshine.
