Aethon ni allan am daith gerddan heddiw. Oherwydd does dim car gyda ni, gwnaethon ni cymer tacsi i Gaerffili i ddechrau’r daith ger Clwb Golff Ridgeway. Cerddon ni 'r dwyrain ar hyd Coed Transh yr Hebog ac yna i lawr i Barc Cefn Onn, lle gwnaethon ni cymer tacsi arall i fynd adre. Roedd y daith tua phum cilometr - a dwy awr ar hanner.

Hyd yn oed nawr mae'n bosibl ffeindio lleoedd i ffwrdd o adeiladau, ceir ayyb. Mae'r coed yn hen, dywyll ac yn dawel, gydag achlysurol golygfeydd o gefn gwlad. Roedd amser pryd pobl yn gweithio yma, yn enwedig chwarela llechi ac rydw i'n amau roedd y llwybrau dawel y ffyrdd prysur o'r adeg.

Roedd dda iawn i fynd allan ac yn archwilio'r ardal. Rydyn ni'n gobeithio ffeindio mwy o amser y fynd allan cyn y gaeaf.

We went out for a walk today. Because we don't have a car, we took a taxi to Caerphilly to start the journey near Ridgeway Golf Club. We walked east along Coed Transh yr Hebog (Something like 'The wood of the Falcon's Ditch') and then down to Cefn Onn Park, where we took another taxi to go home. The journey was about five kilometers - and two and a half hours.

Even now it is possible to find places away from buildings, cars etc. The trees are old, dark and quiet, with occasional views of the countryside. There was a time when people worked here, especially slate quarrying and I suspect the quiet paths were the busy roads of the time.

It was very good to get out and explore the area. We hope to find more time to get out before winter.
