Tuesday: Balcony View

Our housekeeper, Sarita, messaged us this morning to say she’s been admitted to hospital. She’s ok but needs a blood transfusion.  

In Belize you have to provide your own blood so we put out a call amongst colleagues, calling for people to donate.  I fell into the category who could donate but it was so complicated.  I went to the hospital, but they couldn’t link me to the right patient, then the lab was over subscribed so they couldn’t take me today. They might be able to take me tomorrow but who knows.  

In the meantime, Sarita still needs donations.  Apparently, if the hospital does give you blood upfront, you need to pay it back asap.
