A first time for everything

At my doctor's suggestion, I had my first session with an acupuncturist today to help with hip problems, arthritis in both hips.
To say that I was astounded would be an understatement..
It all started with "cupping", (the extra), where the air inside  glass bowls is heated very briefly with an open flame and then placed on the skin. This immediately suctions up the skin and it's all done to relax the muscles. It doesn't hurt at all.
Upon removal after a minute or so, my back was massaged.
After turning over, that's when I got the needles. There's ten of them in my arm in the main photo.. Didn't hurt one bit. Go on, count 'em.
The bit that did flabbergast me was that the needles in my left arm had an effect upon my right hip which seemed to be getting pulses of energy. After about 10 minutes it became uncomfortable, so she removed the needles.
A bit more massage and this session was over, about an hour. Next session on Thursday.

Ah well...
