SEE HER AWAY

A Train Guard seeing off the newly re-allocated NER Class P3 steam loco, number 2392D . . . although I miss her red connecting rods when she was a J27 loco under LNER classification. This is becoming a bit of a mystery. as I do not know why the letter D is there . . . I am certain some Blippers will be able to tell me.
Built in Darlington in 1923, she spent her working life in Durham and York and Scarborough as a Goods Train Queen.  A big girl she weighs over 86 tons and sounds beautiful. For a full history, if you are interested, click here.
Extra . . . Tender Behind . . . oooo Matron . . . shows the newly delivered tender for Loco 3672 Dame Vera Lynn . . . there is a fund raising exercise to try and get her ready for 2025 Festival of Steam.
