Goodbye September

On the one hand you brought some sunny days, beautiful walks in the countryside and by the sea, and lovely visits to, and meals out with, friends and family. There’s still some colour in the garden, including various fuchsias, and also nasturtiums, as above. 
On the other hand you were a terrible month for reading/ listening to the news, as our government, and many countries around the world are lurching to the right, there is more racism, greed, war, violence to women, homophobia, aggression, and general cruelty than I can ever remember. I find it really difficult to bear.
