The Whitehart

I needed to pop in to the Boots today in Havant given it was the nearest pharmacy open on a Sunday and walked along East Street where I noticed this derelict signage on the old pub on the corner of the street. (Full frontage in extra).

This beautiful building was builit in 1889 by local architect Alfred Edwin Stallard and is listed at Grade II as an example of a Victorian corner pub. (According to Wiki). The Havant Civic Society purchased the building from a brewery group in 2014 but, judging by its unloved state, there is a danger it might be lost if developers are not secured to care for it soon.

Thanks Marlieske for hosting DS.
