Hamsterley

A trip to Durham for some Urban Orienteering. A run round an old colliery village of Brandon. I concentrated better than of late and enjoyed a smooth run taking time to slow and check the map on the most tricky legs.

Rather than drive the hour and half home we decide to stay in Hamsterley near to tomorrow’s event at Doctor’s Gate. The small apartment is ideal for an overnight stay. The local hostelry provided a lovely meal and friendly warm atmosphere.

This is the local Baptist Church in the village on a rather damp walk to the pub.Not sure about the foldable chair propped up against the gravestone!
