Fir Park

Motherwell were playing Celtic today at Fir Park. When I passed the ground about an hour before the game there was a gang of balaclava wearing youths who were looking aggressive and intimidating. The police were present in large numbers on foot, on horseback, and in vans herding them towards the ground. I was speaking to a couple of police officers later who were bemoaning the fact that it's only football that seems to attract this type of support. I wasn't surprised to hear there was trouble at the end of the game. No club wants this kind of supporter but sadly they all have them.
