Aysgarth Falls

Oh WOW!
How I wish you could hear this.
Because of all the recent rain the falls were spectacular today.
Walking down the hill from the village the noise got louder the nearer you got to the river.
Aysgarth has a triple flight of waterfalls carved out by the river Ure, over an almost one mile stretch of its descent to mid- Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales.
This photo was taken of the Upper Force.
( It was a toss up between this and my extra.)
All three falls were featured in the film Robin Hood- Prince of Thieves.

After a visit to the church of St Andrew's to once again see the beautiful Medieval Rood Screen Brough here from Jervaulx Abbey when the Abbey was suppressed by Henry VIII. we drove back to Leyburn for lunch at the Post horn Tea and coffee House..
Good food ( chunky vegetable broth and cheese scone) and friendly service.

Had a walk round Bedale on the way back and just got in before the heavens opened!

Unfortunately the last day of our last visit to the caravan this year , but are already looking forward to returning next year all being well.
So many more places to visit.

Extra - wider view of the falls and collage of the church.
