Wood Sandpiper

A very dapper migrant wading bird which has turned up at WWT Slimbridge probably breaking his journey to refuel as they overwinter in Africa.

Pointed out to me by a guide in the hide as he kept disappearing behind an island at a good distance. I was pleased I had seen something out of the ordinary! 

Spot the kingfisher in the Extra and the sleepy wood sandpiper
