Māori carvers at work …..
….. ….. ….. on some red pine, podocarpus totara, saved after floods in the East Coast of the North Island.
These young carvers were part of several displays at the RemarkablesMarket today, all showcasing Māori skills and achievements in NZ society.
I was delighted to see all the displays as they were all of a very high standard and particularly attractive. I think that most of the people involved were from the south of the South Island - Te Wai Pounamu.
Missy thoroughly enjoyed it all too - lots of other dogs there to make friends with.
