Architecture of a different kind.

This is a paper wasp nest, in the early building stage. Every year I battle with these wasps who like to set up their construction sites under the eaves of the roof on the south side of the house. This nest is now defunct since my bug guy came to deal with it today.

I always feel guilty evicting the wasps but having them to stay is not an option! I do admire their construction skills.
