Chuseok
Today was quiet in Busan. Most people were celebrating Chuseok a celebration based around paying respect to ancestors and spending time with family. Chuseok food involves Kimchi or green onion pancakes.
We met with Tom and Yuri once we had checked out of our apartment. Mr Son then took us to the train station. Mrs Son had travelled by subway to be there too. She had made a fruit salad for each of us, complete with little panda skewers and an energy drink for strength for the journey from Busan to Seoul. So very kind, given that this was a rare family holiday for them.
We arrived in Seoul and headed out for our own Chuseok pancakes. They were delicious, although more like fritters than pancakes. I will be trying these at home along with the many different pickles we've eaten.
Already I'm aware that we have such little time left with Tom.....
